Yard Bunnies for Wild Wednesday

Cute Maryland yard bunny: Copyright © Phyllis Wheeler, 2015
Happy wild Wednesday! Last Friday's bunny photo was taken through a window but today's bunny photos were taken outside (standing only about 15 feet away from the rabbits!) and I think they're much better. Hope you enjoy them too.

I felt really blessed that the rabbits just watched me while I took their photos.

The little bunnies were alert but not concerned enough about me or my camera to move away until some pedestrians approached and scared them off. Then they hopped away and disappeared in the greenery.

Spring is definitely here and I'm enjoying both the wildlife and greening of the garden. What do you love about spring? May God bless you this springtime and always!

Pretty Pansies, Periwinkle, Forsythia and a Funky Daffodil

Blue yellow pansies: Copyright © Phyllis Wheeler, 2015
Happy floral Friday and welcome to this week in my Maryland garden! I love spring and the excitement of new flowers blooming in our yard. Granted, the pansies have been in the garden since last fall but they are definitely starting to perk up again with our spring weather.

The periwinkle (also called vinca) started blooming this week and it's nice to see little flowers on the evergreen foliage. We'd grow this ground cover just for the glossy green leaves but the purple-blue blooms are a nice bonus.

The forsythia came into full bloom this week. Its bright yellow is like a smile from our garden.

I love the yellow center of this burgundy pansy.

And I am not sure why but I like this funky daffodil photo better sideways than right side up.

Thank you for visiting! Next week I hope to have photos of blooms on our very first cherry tree to share with you. May God bless you this spring and always!

Cute Yard Bunny Photos for Wild Wednesday

When I walked by this cute bunny, instead of hopping away, it just hung out in my Maryland yard and watched me for a while. So I went back in the house and got my camera out, not really expecting the rabbit to still be there, but hoping it would be. To my surprise it was still there. It chewed on some grass and watched me for a while.

Then the bunny grabbed a violet leaf and made a couple of hops to the left.

Still within about 10 feet of me it decided to hang out for a while again.

I enjoyed watching it stretch its neck for tasty leaves and then munch on them. Then my neighbor's dog barked and the rabbit hopped away. I felt blessed to have been able to get so close to the cute wild creature and watch it for as long as I did.

Hope you enjoyed this week's Wild Wednesday animal photos!

May God bless you!
